Treatment of disorder
Interventricular septal rupture is a disease where muscle between left ventricular and right ventricular becomes necrotic and a hole through is made by cardiac infarct so that traffic between left and right ventricular is made, resulted the heart function is compounded further. This symptom is said to appear in about 2% of acute cardiac infarction. Other than cardiac infarct symptom, if further compounded disease, like respiration failure or blood pressure drop exist, interventricular septal rupture is suspicious for left ventricular rupture as well as incompetence of the mitral valve.
Interventricular septal rupture is suspicious if breathing difficulty continues even after the chest pain. Cardiac murmur can be heard by auscultation. Blood stream can be recognized at interventricular septal by cardiac ultrasonography. Depend upon how big the rapture hole is, some are get into shock status, some are having minor breathing difficulty. Level of the blood stream between left and right ventricular at the ruptured point may be checked by Catheter Test.
Breathing difficulty and/or blood pressure drop appears precipitously due to compounded heart function. Including the cure of these symptom, it is requested to have a surgery to close rupture hole in interventricular septal. In case general condition is stable, there is a case where surgery tale place with some interval after the effect of cardiac infarct is relieved, but because of the case where the symptom changes suddenly, fundamentally it becomes as an emergency surgery. Perform the extracorporeal circulation with using artificial heart lung apparatus, perform surgery with heart stopped. Restoration is sewing the ruptured interventricular septal with cloth like membrane to close the hole.
Because of acute cardiac infarction and shock status before surgery, recovery may take time. Risk of the surgery or provability for complicated disease is getting high.
