Palliative Care

What is palliative care

Palliative Care is a frame of mind to ease a bitter mind comes with cancer on patient and/or family, and to respect his/her life and personality.

During the cancer treatment, patient may sometimes feel body pain, such as nausea, loss of appetite and/or lassitude. And along with a change of symptom and/or treatment, patient may sometime feel depressed or experience a mind illness like feeling of desperation. Body or mind bitterness differs from patient by patient. When body or mind bitterness is getting bigger or continues for long time, it may suffer with one’s daily life, and effect on the quality of curing life and treatment itself. It is, therefore, considered that to receive Palliative Care will turns into spending patient character-like life.

Palliative Care Team

Palliative Care team conducts the support for patient and family to receive palliative care in comfort.
Members are Doctors, Pharmaceutist, Nurse, Physical Therapist and Medical Social Worker. Upon necessity, they collaborate with specialists for further support.

Nurse Listening and monitoring physical and mental pains, figuring out overall symptom, and conduct a care. There are Cancer Pain Syndrome Care certified Nurse, Cancer Radiation Treatment certified Nurse and Hospital Ward Nurse. They are supporting not only hospitalized life but also nursing care at home.
Pharmaceutist Giving the advice of the pain relief drug, its usage and countermeasure for the side effect.
Physical Therapist/
Work Therapist
Prevent hardness in moving joints or weaken muscle strength. Work on the rehabilitation shaping up easy to move method in normal life.
Managerial Dietician Work on the consultation and support regarding the meals and nutritional care.
Clinical Psychotherapist Listen to the problems in heart regarding worries and mental depression.

Out patient Palliative Care

Out Patient performed by in-hospital Palliative Care Team for outpatient visit.Patients who has received medical care by Palliative Care Team during hospitalization period, can receive the same at Outpatient visit after dihospitalization.

Please consult us for the below listed symptom or worries.
  • Patient who has a symptom appeared on the body, listed as follows. Pain, closeness, nausea, agonize with belly expanded, unable to sleep.
  • Person with worries, aggravation, mental depression, fears.
  • Person suffered with social or economical issue such as Job related problem or expense, or selection of curing place, so on.

When conducting TAVI Treatment, Cardiovascular Internal Medicine Doctor, Cardiac Surgeon, Anesthesia Doctor, Echocardiographic Doctor and co-medical such as Nurse, Physical Therapist, Radiation Technologist, Biomedical Equipment Technician, are collaborate for the medical treatment. Cross over the boundaries of diagnosis and treatment department, team member will select the best appropriate medical treatment for the patient, based on their domain of expertise knowledge and experience, and back-up entire process of the treatment including post-surgical management.
