Fibroadenoma of Breast

Fibroadenoma of breast is the most frequently seen disease among the benignant tumor (lump) developed in mammary gland.

Lump may be resulted in regression by aging.

This disease commonly being developed in late 10s to 20s age, and it gradually grows up and after 30s age, enlarging tendency may stop. Furthermore, there is a case that tumor (lump) may result in regression by aging to 40s to 50s. Tumor is usually touched as flat oval shape, in 1 to 2cm size, having smooth surface in common, but merely there is a case which exceed 3cm or over.

Differentiation is necessary with breast cancer.

It shows flat tumor shape with distinguished boarder line at ultrasonic examination. There is a case that tumor is seen as tumor with distinguished boarder line or large calcified image by mammography. Differentiation with breast cancer is the issue, but resection biopsy or needle biopsy becomes necessary for definite diagnosis.

No treatment is necessary when lump is small.
